TuffWrap^® EXT Exterior Walls Protects Convention Center

OVERVIEW

TuffWrap^® EXT engineered exterior walls protected a downtown convention center from dust, debris and weather while refurbishing the loading dock.

CHALLENGE

A downtown Convention Center had to rebuild the concrete in the loading dock area. Concrete work produces significant dust and debris, risking shutting down the entire dock area. The Convention Center needed to keep employees safe and protect the facility’s interior against contamination and weather during construction.

SOLUTION

TuffWrap^® Installations created a total enclosure out of TuffWrap^® EXT temporary engineered exterior walls, TuffWrap’s signature exterior protection solution. TuffWrap^® EXT weather barrier temporarily encloses the exterior of a structure without the need to shrink material with an open flame or scaffolding. The TuffWrap^® EXT Walls stretched over 40 feet tall were reinforced with straps, created a sealed and protected space for the interior spaces until the completion of work.

CONCLUSION

The Convention Center required that it remain operational during construction while protecting people and the facility from dust, debris and weather. The TuffWrap^® EXT enclosure solution provided an effective barrier solution, even extending the construction time regardless of the weather. In addition, it reduced downtime with a lower cost during the construction phases.
